Déjà vu is believed to be the French meaning for ''already seen'' also called paramnesia from the Greek TTapa (''para''. ''near'' - memory) mneme. Is the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously?
The experience déjà vu is common amongst children and adults, informal studies have shown that 70% of people report having experienced it at least once. However could there be a more logical explanation to this odd feeling that people experience.
Could it be more to do with the mind than anything unusual, Could it have anything to do with the optical nerves that send messages from the eye to brain and one side gets sent faster than the other thus confusing the brain into thinking it has been there before?
